“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…. I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.” Robert Frost
I often think of this poem, especially when I know that fall is just around the corner. It is my favorite time of the year to be outdoors. I have been blessed to live in the parts of the country that are gorgeous during the autumn season. My favorite is seeing the groves of Quaking Aspens in the Wasatch and the Rocky Mountains. Nothing comes close in my opinion and hearing the wind rustle through the leaves is almost magical.
This year has been one filled with tremendous challenges. We have had to re-engineer how we work, play, and entertain ourselves. Many of us have had loved ones fallen ill or others who have lost jobs. The college students we sent away are back home, locked in their rooms doing virtual courses. There have even been some who have not only had to work from home but have had the added responsibility of home schooling as well. It has been incredibly challenging to say the least.
But now we have fall just around the corner. Laura and I are taking a much-needed vacation to the mountains in North Georgia where I hope my fly-fishing skills are still up to par. Then in October, it is back to Georgia and Lucas and I are going to hunt wild boars.
I hope you can all take the road less traveled and get out to enjoy this autumn season. You deserve it.
