“Recent weeks have seen some extraordinary moves in the financial markets, as the world reacts to the spread of COVID-19. Please know that we are closely monitoring current news and economic reports, and we are committed to supporting you through this season. Feel free to contact us any time, for any reason. We are here to help.” This is the banner that now appears on our website.
We are very fortunate to have seasoned leadership at our firm. Laura has weathered many downturns in the market (Black Friday, Flash Crash, Dot Com, 2008-2009) and has gained much experience and insight because of it. Together we have been through fires in Los Angeles, flooding in Marin County, an earthquake in San Francisco, and tornado’s in Alabama. Throughout it all, we found out that if you just focus on what is in front of you and keep your emotions in check, you will come out on the other side, potentially much stronger. The key to maintaining your focus is to have a have a plan. Whether it is a disaster plan for you and your family, a disaster recovery plan for your business or having a retirement/investment plan, these will all help you concentrate on what is front of you now.
This also is a time also to realize that there are some things you can’t do on your own or you need professional help with. I know when we developed our emergency succession plan and disaster recovery plans several years ago, we relied heavily on the experts at our broker dealer as well as our own Lucas Staples to implement our IT security and remote working functionality and security. Having all of this in place gives us confidence so that we can focus on taking care of our clients and being a resource in the community.
Again, feel free to contact us any time for any reason. We are here to help. No plan? No problem. Call us.
