Our Pioneering Spirit
Laura and I recently returned from our annual conference with our broker-dealer, Cambridge Investment Research, that was held in Denver, Colorado. Laura and I drove out as we were not only interested in some potential market expansion, but we wanted to see and follow the trails that early pioneers used to inhabit the West. Laura and I both come from adventurous bloodlines. Laura’s family were some of the first settlers of Madison County and my family settled in Southern Idaho/Northern Utah. Our trip started in Independence, Missouri, trail head for all the westward migration. Along the way, we got to visit the Union Pacific Railroad's Bailey Yard, the largest rail yard in the world. This was especially important to me as my family has had over 300 years of service with the Union Pacific. My grandfather was station master and my grandmother a telegrapher at the Cache Junction Station in Northern Utah. My father was born in that station!!
We stopped along the many points to read the stories of those early Americans and the hardships they faced. We got to see the vast open spaces they crossed in America’s heartland to get to their final destinations. They all did this as they wanted more for themselves and their families and they weren’t content with the status quo. It took lots of determination to not only complete the journey but to build a prosperous life once they were there. They were all rewarded for their hard work and some were able to leave a legacy in ranching that was passed on through several generations.
Upon our arrival to Denver and at the beginning of our conference, we were again reminded of the independence and pioneering spirit we have with our broker-dealer. Cambridge has no proprietary products and allows us an open architecture of investments and risk solutions. And like our ancestors, we aren’t constrained with the status quo like many advisors that are with the large wire-houses and broker-dealers. We are able to customize our services so that we can help you have the retirement that you have worked for all these years, the one that you plodded along so diligently every year to save and pioneer so you could enjoy the second half of your life. Call us today and find out how we can help you celebrate your pioneering adventure.
